Listening to Whitney Houston always brings a tear to my eyes. A beautiful talent with a voice of an angel, it’s still strange to speak about her in the past tense.
Nick Broomfield’s brilliant documentary Whitney: Can I Be Me gave us a personal and never before insight into her life, the rise of her fame, the battle of her image and relationships. It’s a documentary that’s both respectful of her history yet tackles the tragic sadness within her career. Just like Prince and Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston was the holy trinity of influential stars that redefined the essence of music but sadly no longer with us.
Gone but never forgotten.
