Hello folks and welcome to a brand new feature called Soundtrack Thursday!

Every Thursday I’ll be posting a music track from a film or TV soundtrack.  Why?  It’s because I love soundtracks.  If I’m on Spotify, it dominates my playlists.  So I thought, why not share it?

From John Williams to Hans Zimmer or even a Quentin Tarantino playlist from one of his films, film scores are underrated.  When music is done right, they provide a voice to a scene or a character and evoke an emotion.  What better way to recognise those achievements and those talented artists by highlighting it in a blog post.

And why Thursday?  Well it fits in the spirit of #throwbackthursday and it’s the day before Friday so why not kick start it with a bang.  Think of it as a movie/TV playlist for the weekend.

And I don’t want this to be a singular voice.  I want you guys to participate as well.  Send me your suggestions.  Even better, if you have a few words on why the track is great – perfect.  That’s the exact response I want for this feature.  Use my contact page and email me your suggestions with a link to the track.

And spread the word.  Use #SoundtrackThursday on social media.  Share and engage.

So let’s get this party started in this inaugural Soundtrack Thursday post.

“A Whole New World” – Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle

Film: Aladdin

Aladdin was the first film I ever saw at the cinema and the song “A Whole New World” was one of the defining tracks of my childhood.  You wasn’t a 90s person if you didn’t know this song!

What are your memories of A Whole New World?  Comment below.

Check back next week to find out the next track selection on the playlist.

  1. Aladdin is my all time favourite Disney animated classic. So top notch choice having this song as your chosen first 🙂
