One Week, Two Awards…

announcement

I don’t know what to say 🙂

When you start a blog, all you can do is hope for the best. To my surprise, I was nominated for two blog awards in a space of a week!

I like to thank Drew from Drew’s Movie Reviews for the Versatile Blogger Award and Khalid from The Blazing Reel for the Dragon’s Loyalty Award.  It’s an honour…and completely unexpected.

Both Drew and Khalid have awesome blogs so please check them out on your blogging adventures.

Guess I’ve got some house rules to follow.

  • Post the award on your site
  •  Thank the person who nominated you
  •  Share 7 facts about yourself
  •  Nominate 15 blogs
  •  Link to your nominees’ site

7 Facts About Myself:

  1. When it comes to books, I like to buy the physical copy.  Nothing wrong with e-readers of course but love the feeling of actually turning a page on a book.  Currently reading Ready Player One by Ernest Cline – the geekiest book I’ve ever read.  Halfway through and it’s a brilliant story so far.  Highly recommended.
  2. In my spare time I’ve been learning to drive.
  3. Is super excited to see The X-Files coming back in 2016.
  4. Can’t wait to play Batman: Arkham Knight on my PS4.  Played every Batman game Rocksteady have made and can’t wait to see how the final chapter will conclude.
  5. Should not come as a surprise to anyone (considering how much I mention it) but pretty much every major new film release I see it in IMAX.  The first films I watched in the format were Batman Begins and Inception.  Never looked back since.
  6. I’m a blu-ray collector and my ideal blu-ray wishlist consists of a Laurel and Hardy collection, Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes and The Marx Brothers.  Why the 30s/40s slant?  Films I watched as a kid on a Saturday morning (along with awesome cartoons in between) and they deserve the HD treatment.  Duck Soup is one of my favourite comedies of all time.
  7. I support Tottenham Hotspur FC – we’ve had a good first season under our new manager with promising youth coming through the ranks.  Hopefully that will continue.

      1. Hope so too. Been impressed with him. I know Spurs fans are not known for it but hopefully if we show some patience we can keep growing as a team. Every season it becomes difficult to keep hold of our star players but hopefully a new stadium (which is badly needed) will help. We are not far off from being a team that challenges for honours but we definitely need a stronger squad – quality over quantity. Let’s see how the summer goes.

        What team do you follow?

      2. Boo! 🙂
Although I did laugh at Rooney’s goal celebration when he scored against us.

At least you’re back in the Champions League! Onwards and upwards?

      3. Haha…Yes, being back in the Campions League is something, I do feel though, that we dropped some valuable points against West Brom and Everton that could have resulted in an even better position.
That said, Tottenham 5-3 Chelsea was by far my favorite game of the season

      4. I think once Van Gaal identifies the players he wants (stay away from our goalkeeper if De Gea leaves!), I think you will be alright. Man U was always going to be a tough job after Sir Alex. Improve your defence first because you had top quality centre defenders in Vidic and Ferdinand but you didn’t replace them. Those games where you dropped points would have made the difference if you had someone like those two sorting it out.

Spurs/Chelsea game was amazing. It’s a shame we couldn’t repeat it for the League Cup Final. Best team lost that day. On the other hand you could say it’s a compliment from Mourinho on how dangerous Spurs can be when he fielded five defenders in a cup final!

      5. Yes, I agree we really lack when it comes to having a good defence and it’s something we really need to improve on if we’re going to be competing for the title next season. Van Gaal, I feel is the right man. It’s going to be hard for him to get the team back to the top but if anyone can do it it’s him.

    1. Thank you very much! No worries on the nomination. Your blog is great and the nomination is well deserved. Mulder and Scully have been sorely missed from our screens. Can’t wait to see them back again in action.
